P40L-P49Y Contest Summary Information

We lost 6 1/4 hours of critical operating time when a car hit a power pole with a high voltage transformer mounted on it just down the road from the station early Saturday morning, knocking over the pole (which must have had dry rot) and smashing the transformer. We were not able to get back on the air until power was restored mid-afternoon and figure that cost us somewhere around 1000 to 1100 QSOs.

The lost time also cause us to sacrifice to run on 10 meters on Sunday more than would otherwise have made sense in an effort to catch up for missing the limited 10 meter opening on Saturday (at 11:30 local time on Sunday we still only had 2 mults on 10 meters).

Nevertheless, we had fun.
